Our dedicated team at Addison Tyre have extensive motorcycle knowledge and can offer advice on choosing the most suitable motorcycle tyres for your bike. As stockists of a large range of motorcycle & scooter tyres, you’re guaranteed to get what you need from us, and, if we haven’t got your specific size there and then, we’ll arrange for this to be in stock normally within 24 hours. If you require new tyres, you can contact us and one of our friendly team will look after you.

We offer a ride-in, ride-out service for a large range of motorcycles. All work is carried out to high standard for your safety by our team of IMI certified motorcycle mechanics. All nuts and bolts are torqued to Autodata settings and we do not use air tools on motorcycles. Please note the ride in fitting service is an extra charge to loose wheel fitted prices and must be booked in with us before you arrive. You can be confident that the prices of our tyres all include fitting to loose wheels (Off the bike) vat, rubber valve, wheel balance and disposal of your old motorcycle tyres.

Motorcycle Wheel Balancing

We use the Abba Super Pro Wheel Balancer for wheel balancing. This has an accuracy of 1 gram and is used by many race circuit garages and main dealerships, so you get an accurate balance every time. Our team can balance all motorcycle wheels, front and rear, and have a staged adapter to suit all popular sizes of wheel bearings. We also have a single sided adapter for balancing single sided swing arm model wheels that do not have the bearings in the rear wheel, for example, VFR’s, Ducati’s, BMW’s, Triumphs. With four additional bearings on the wheel balancer, this allows for almost friction free, very accurate balancing and uses a variety of adhesive weights. You have the choice of silver or gloss black weights to help blend in well with darker rims.

Valve stem features:
- Valve angled at 83° for easy access for inflating and checking tire pressure.
- Colours include Silver, Black, Red and Gold.
- Weight: 9g per valve.
- Made in Italy.
- All aluminium construction.
Information:
- Fixed to the rim with a locking nut, so it cannot be bent or come free of your rim.
- Inside air valve does not open at high speed due to centrifugal force.
- Used by many race teams competing in WSB and BSB for their ease of use and reliability.
- Ultra lightweight valve stem for when only the absolute best will do in a valve stem.
- These are the same valve stems used by Ducati (8.3mm Size) and sold under the Ariete brand name (11.3mm size).
- Does not need to be replaced with each tyre change.
- 11.3mm fits almost every Japanese manufactured tire rim since the early 80’s. Valve stems needs a flat region of 17.6mm (0.7in) around the valve stem.
- To check the clearance, use a socket that is about 18mm in outer diameter.
- Place socket around the current valve stem with the valve stem sticking through the centre of the socket.
- If you have a flat region that fits a socket of around 18mm, then you should have enough clearance.
Assembly Instructions:
1. Remove the old valve stem.
2. Clean both valve body and valve stem hole on the rim.
3. Insert valve onto the rim, taking care not to damage the gasket at the base of the valve stem.
4. Attach the nut on the inside of the rim to the valve stem threaded body.
5. Set valve stem torque to 7Nm to 10Nm. (5.1~7.3 ft-lb / 62~88 in-lb).
Note: Excessive torque may damage the all-aluminium valve stem threads.

- Interference issues between the valve body and a “rib” on the rim.
- The clearance around the valve body is less than 17.6m.
- The valves will not fit without modifying the rim and/or valve stem.
Honda Angled Valve Fitting Exceptions

1988-2000 Honda GL1500 GoldWing, 2001-2008 Honda GL1800 GoldWing & Rune.
- Valves will not fit due to a small raised tire-valve support on the rim.
- Raised support was cast into the Honda Rim to support a plastic cage for the rubber based angled valve stem.
- The plastic cage is not used with Aluminum Valve stem.
- A minor modification would be required to grind down the small raised tire-valve support on the rim.
